Summer season has ended weeks ago and the island welcomes the Habagat (monsoon) with windbreakers and improvised bamboo wave breaker. However, the amount of rainfall and typhoon flooded the central area. Without proper drainage system and waste water treatment facility their remedy for the flood water is to sucked it out to the beach.

Knowing that water has an odor, brown in color and was free flowing in and out the gutter that connects to the establishment what would it effect to the beach? I have listed a few questions below:

Sedimentation – are there significant amount of sediment that could affect the coral?

Contamination – pathogens would cause illness to the swimmers? Would the pathogens bloom given that their optimal temperature is 30-35?

Tourism – would the flooding turn off the tourist and declined the revenue?
